There was bike/helmet safety tips, bike decorating, an obstacle course with checkpoints, prizes & BBQ Hotdogs!
A big shout out to the volunteers, Lisa Dempster & Lisa Davis-Ryland for their contributions.
Thank you to everyone who attended & made it a great event!

Thanks to Jada, our Recreation Coordinator, and the ladies who showed up for a fun afternoon in L'Anse Au Clair last Thursday! At this event, we made Welcome Cards to be included in Welcome Baskets distributed by SLDA's Welcoming Communities Initiative.
Louisa taught us how to make yarn tassels to use as decorations for bikes at the upcoming 'Bike Rodeo' on Saturday, August 4th, at the Labrador Straits Arena. Yarn tassels are still used to decorate hats. Traditionally, the tassels were used to decorate seal skin boots, dog sled leaders, snowshoes, etc.
Louisa and Pearl used to work together at the Labrador Grenfell Clinic in Forteau and it was so special listening to their stories. Can you remember when eggs used to be stored in five gallon buckets?
